Help please: How does Forest Machinery work?
I have decided to give up on mods from third-party sites and went to Steam's DLC and bought the West Coast Bundle for $20 and change (real American money via PayPal, not ATS game money) and got the Oregon and Washington state maps along with special logging trailers and equipment.

Now some questions about my latest acquisitions from Steam.

How does one access and use the forest machinery in the the game? Do I have to first discover places in OR and WA to get to play forest work? Will I be able to own any of the special forest trailers in the game or are they strictly owned by the customers I take forest jobs from?

I basically need a primer to get started with Forest Machines.

Steam has confirmed that all content in the West Coast Bundle was installed. Opening the game I've discovered places (small white dots) on the WA and OR maps waiting to be discovered. Opening up Trailer Manager I noticed only Standard trailers were listed there but none of the forest equipment.

Trailer manager will only show trailers you can actually buy and own. Trailer browser will show all the available trailers within the game.

Forest Machinery is just additional cargo you can find in the freight market and are immediately available at whichever prefabs would have them available to pick up from. You can only find them in the freight market, as you can't own those type of trailers anyway at this time. Discovering anything in OR or WA is not a requirement to find those loads.

Tanks, Shadow.

Browsing the load boards in Freight Market now reveals the special "forest trailers" and equipment like log harvesters and tub grinders and such provided by customers. I've also notice lowboys with heavy equipment in CA, AZ and NV as well. I will just haul somebody else's lowboys then. I'm now exploring OR and WA in my bob-tailing tractor to discover new cities. I'm anxious to start working the logging woods of the Pacific Northwest. It's only a matter of time before Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Texas and Colorado is added.

I have noticed that my game has a lot of frame stutter (short freezes in animation) after the OR and WA maps were added. The frame stutter got worse as I was driving into OR for the first time. My graphics card might be overheating. I may need to reboot the PC. I will have to launch FRAPS to monitor frame rates in game play.

You have to sleep in game in order for load for forest cargoes to show up in freight market. It gives the cargoes that are previously there to expire and you should see new batch of jobs. Try this this usually work and then they start to show up more. I hope this helps.

Driving in the Oregon map, frame rates can go as high as 60 and as low as 33. Lower frame rates are more in towns with building scenery.

@TomCougar

Frame rate issues, well you'll have to play with the settings and of course your PC. What are your settings at now?

Steam has a FPS counter that you can turn on (In Steam, while no games are running, go to Steam > Settings > In-Game.
