Spotify desktop app and having a keyboard with media controls (basically any new keyboard these days) gets around that, unless performance is an issue (and your system would have to be pretty borderline already to have Spotify tip it over the edge)

Modern podcasts aren't as good for driving, because content creators are making their shows for a primarily visual medium - while classic talk radio is produced explicitly for a strictly audio medium.
There's also whole libraries of "Books on Tape" and classic Radio Drama shows. Would be nice to get all of this integrated into ATS with a more natural in-game selector you can pre-configure/share - but even linking to content in an official product probably comes with too many legal headaches.
