add spotify to ATS

i been looking this up but there is not clear way of someone explaing how to add spotify to ats so i can listen to it in the game.

Do i have to copy a link from spotify or how would i do it

Why not just play it in the background while you play the game?

I listen to talk shows and podcasts all the time with my browser in the background.

i figured it out and tried it and i think my laptop is starting to show its age as the games fps tanks to 8fps so ill find another way to listen to music while playing :)

A thing I used to do many years back, Get a stereo male to male 3.5 mm cable and plug one end into your phone, and the other into you mic input on the laptop. start spotify on your phone and happy days. Bonus: you can change what you listen to without alt-tabbing.

Spotify desktop app and having a keyboard with media controls (basically any new keyboard these days) gets around that, unless performance is an issue (and your system would have to be pretty borderline already to have Spotify tip it over the edge)

They should just integrate it as a Radio option, and it would show up as "ATS Radio" in your Spotify Speaker Selection.

Yeah, I understand where people say just play in the background but if you want that feel and look of using the in game radio would be cool just to have.

I use Spotify connect. Spotify open on pc but using iPad to stream music to Pc. Works great plus I have controls and most importantly volume control available while driving.

Same, mostly Art Bell C2C/MitD, but also dipping into some Rush Limbaugh and Howard Stern. There's also a ton of "Radio" stations on Youtube that play anything from DooWop to Thrash Metal. And they're continuous play/livestreams, so you don't get your history filled with random songs or that annoying "are you still watching" autoplay popup.

Modern podcasts aren't as good for driving, because content creators are making their shows for a primarily visual medium - while classic talk radio is produced explicitly for a strictly audio medium.

There's also whole libraries of "Books on Tape" and classic Radio Drama shows. Would be nice to get all of this integrated into ATS with a more natural in-game selector you can pre-configure/share - but even linking to content in an official product probably comes with too many legal headaches.
