External contracts limits truck to 65mph while speed limit is 70-80mph...
I am grinding away for this cristmas event. I like it so far, but i am so annoyed that my truck is limited to below the speedlimit.... Like in Arizona, New mexico and Nevada, where the limit varies from 70-80mph. Why did SCS put high speedlimits, but limits the truck to 65mph...

Is there a way to bypass the limmiter (i turned truck speed limiter off ingame) or get SCS's attention with this? Are they planning to up the limmiter on the external contracts?

Same thing happens in real life. Most trucks are limited to 60-65mph. Why? Ask Quebec and other states that require trucks to be limited to a certain speed. Maybe some local trucks get away from this.

No. External contracts specifically have speed limiter on to make it fair/same for everyone (they are a shared mission pool for everyone).

The thing with external contracts is that you have the time in real time rather than in-game time which gives plenty of time to do the deliveries. It has always been 65mph limit with external contracts and I don't think it will change. There is also plenty of time left to complete the event.

Regarding requests for the speed limit to be altered, it has been requested many times by many players.

Then why not raise it for everyone?

I get that, but it's rather annyoing to be stuck under the limmit, when you can go faster. And the speedlimit i refer to is the truck speed limit. And i hope SCS might change their mind soon. :p

Not a racing game. They've set the limit to the common legal limit.

Unless I'm totally wrong, these 75MPH limits are not set throughout the entire US. SCS made this decision in the long run, for a time when people will do contacts through states that have only a 65MPH limit.

They have decided a fair speed limit and raising it to the maximum speed limit in the game they may as well not have anyspeed limit at all. Which is not what they have chosen to do. It is a reasonable speed limit and the external contracts are in real time.

But don't forget what a very wise man called Jermy Clarkson once said "speed and power solves many things":P

I understand but I doubt SCS will change to suit a minority of players.

It never hurts to voice concerns and you are not alone in doing that so there is always hope. :)

There is no government requirement for truck speed limiters in the USA. My understanding is that many company owned trucks do have limiters of 60 or 65 mph for insurance and fuel economy reasons. There has been talk of a Federal limit of 65 mph for trucks but so far that has not happened. At least SCS did not use the 90 kph limit from Europe or we would be stuck at 56 mph.
