but yes, i think deceleration just by the drivetrain should be looked at by SCS for sure... it´s just too weak
The latest beta has changed code included that has increased the drivetrain load under deceleration, but to be honest I can't see or feel a difference.
Exhaust brake.
Trailer brake.
Engine brake.
Retarder.
My oldest boss always said "Gears to go. Brakes to slow". It's long been taught in my country that shuffling down through gears to decelerate is not only an increase in driver workload but also extra wear and tear on parts.
I wrote a mod that replaces the standard retarder sound with a big fat and loud engine brake - like the one in a Cummins engine. In ETS2 and ATS there is a delay between activation of an engine brake and the effect on the truck. The retarder has up to 5 levels of rsistance and it actuates immediately .. but mine SOUNDS like a cracklin' Jacob brake about to crush your vehicle with sheer noise.
My impression is that SCS was a group of pretty good 3d modellers that decided to make a "game".
