There are no new COE trucks in the US.

why does it have to be new?

Because thats what truck manufacturers want to be represented first before anything else, thats why we had the 579 and T680 before we could get the W900 & 389 in game.

TruckerKid is right. Truck companies aren't interested in granting licenses for older models when they are promoting the new ones.

Mods are filling the gaps. Harven's FLB is a great Freightliner cabover.

There are several good cab over mods

Meh. If it hauls and is comfortable enough, I never fretted the name tag. Volvo, GMC, Freightliner, MACK, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Ford...

Sorry to burst you bubble. Today it all about saving gas and COE were at a time great but today they would end up costing the drive and company more in fuel that it should. I have not seen one since 1985 when my uncle retired from Consolidatede Frieght. He drove a Freightliner COE.

Anyone that assumes we don't have cab overs in the USA is believing pure conjecture. We have them but mostly they are being used for local routes and defintely not long hauls. Maybe some regional state-to-state stuff. The one I drove was an Isuzu and literally couldn't drive faster than 55. So not only are they not powerful enough but they just aren't very comfortable for driving long distances. Have you ever been in one? They can sure make a person claustrophobic.

I saw one today, but yeah, they're pretty rare. The regulations that caused US truckmakers to make them changed back in the 80's, and full-bodied trucks are much more aerodynamic (thus more fuel-efficient).

Kind of a shame though, as COEs look super-cool (unless you are Renault), and can turn on a dime compared to something like a W900.

Edit: Here are some good cabover mods that work with ATS v1.8, I posted these last time someone was asking about COE trucks:

Freightliner FLB

International 9800

Kenworth K100

Mack Ultraliner

The K100 and 9800 have the greatest jakebrake sounds I've ever heard in the game.

Well, there's always European Truck Simulator.

Last time I saw a COE truck was last year but for the most part, they've been retired for the trucks you see on the road. I think it was due to safety concerns.

i understand what you guys are saying makes alot of sense and thanks for the feed back, i just think its a shame we wont get them cos the manufactures are dictating what models we are going to get.. amagine if asseta corsa could;nt use say the Ferrari F40 because Ferrari only wanted us to use the La Ferrari? and as for the mods i love playing MP and im guessing they dont work on that.. I do play ETS 2 mainly because there is so much more content, but i do love ATS just cant wait for more content..

but like i said thanks for feed back guys appreciated :)

More trucks and more customization in general is needed. Volvo's and Mercedes trucks are found just as frequently on American roads as Peterbilts and Kenworths. More COE's as well. If you can't get the licensing, make an SCI brand truck, and model in any truck you aren't able to license, with some minor alterations to prevent liability.
