Force Feedback Thrustmaster TX
Hey All,

Wondering what the limitations of FFB are in game. I feel the rumble strips on the highway and curbs and whatnot, but I don't get any feel at all of power steering feedback or anything else. I can just spin my wheel freely with no resistance.

Is this just how it is, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks very much.

Does your wheel have a centering spring/mechanism? Try increasing that in the FFB settings.

In game or in the thrustmaster settings?

I've always left to zero for every racing game I've played in the thrustmaster settings.

Try it in the game settings.

Great. Thanks so much for the quick reply

Dampering, also.

The most active wheel-using community is racers; they hate dampering. But for truck driving, dampers give the feel of power steering: easy to turn when going slowly, but harder to turn at speed. This behavior mimics power steering IRL where you don't want the wheel easy to turn at speed. I set my dampers around 75%.

I've had this happen before. I had to redo the firmware update. This has worked for me.

Did you have any issue finding the "firmware update" on your computer? I contacted TM a few days ago about not being able to locate it.

No. I installed to default for software. When clicking Windows 10 Start button, I can find it under Thrustmaster in the App listings. Another option is to find the install folder. My Firmware Update is located here:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Thrustmaster\FFB Racing wheel

The Program Data is a hidden folder. Might need to show hidden folders to access this.

I think theres a problem with their download from TM because the folder doesnt include the Thrustmaster Firmware Updater. Ive even tried installing it with my defender off and still nothing. Kinda hoping to find the program available for download somewhere trustworthy on the net.

Tried a different USB port? Is wheel in the proper mode for PC?

I have a T150 and I have to use PS3 Mode for PC connection.
