Loose Steering with the Duty Cab?
I've noticed, the first truck that I bought was the duty cab....the very first truck model that is affordable. No matter the settings I choose in the options menu, I can't seem to get the steering to be just right. But I have also noticed that when I'm doing a job where I'm using their truck and it's the other "cab" the "long-sized" truck...if you can visualize what I'm talking about...that my steering is perfect. Can someone help me figure this out?

There is no difference between chassis as far as steering function is concerned. If you're truly having a steering issue it will be caused by some other factor, not chassis type.

Ok thank you. I have upgraded from a duty cab to the bigger cab "High sleeper" or whatever it is...and I have found that my steering is much better controlled. It could be just the fact that I'm carrying a heavy load too.

The shorter wheelbase on a daycab will exagerate steering wheel input more than a longer chassis tractor.
Remember, short wheelbase tighter turns, longer wheelbase, wider turns.

A nice benefit of the shorter wheelbase daycab tractors is that they're also easier to park a trailer with.

Hi there again. Here is what I have...maybe this info will help you folks help me.
Series: 579
Chassis: 6x4
Cabin: Hi Rise Sleeper
Steering: Left-Hand
Engine Power: 600hp (447kw)
Engine Torque: 2,050 lb - ft (2779Nm)/ 1,200 rpm
Gearbox: Eaton FO - 22E318B - VXP R
Fuel Tank: 300 gallons

My steering is still a little bit loose on this even when driving heavy cargo. What can I do to tighten the steering so that I'm not all over the road? Changing my steering sensitivity and the non-linearity does not help.

You may be adjusted for how a sleeper cab reacts, while the dayacb reacts faster, and the turns are sharper due to the wheelbases being different. Try taking a job with a sleeper cab without changing your settings to see if you still have to "issue" Try day can varients of other rucks as well

I don't think you mentioned what type of device you are steering with. I am using a G29 wheel, which works for me in Linux, but no force feedback in ATS or ETS2. Unless you are going 75-80 mph, steering in ATS is rather relaxing compared with shorter trucks in ETS2 where km/h sometimes feels like same number mph even though a kilometer is much shorter than a mile.

AnkleBiter, I'm using a mouse to steer with and I have a Laptop with Windows 10. I don't know what force feedback is...
