Heavy Haul and Trucks
Going to get my first truck soon and was wondering if there is a way to tell if your truck can carry a heavy load before taking the job? Dont want to get stuck on a hill. Was aiming for the Kenworth t680 Duty day cab. with the 455hp engine and the Eaton FO-20E313A-MHP Gearbox. with that said is there a way in the game I can tell if my truck can handle the heavy load.

There are graphs that show how suitable a truck is to certain loads. You'll want the heavy haul bar as far right as it will go.

You'll see it when configuring your truck in game. It's a nice touch. It will also pop up before you take a heavy haul job, so you can verify you have your heavy haul truck selected before taking the job.

Not sure what is considered minimum for Heavy Cargo DLC, but for that the best setup for T680 or similar Peterbuilt is 600 hp with 18 speed. You can make a nice hauler with that:

But for the 170,000 lb achievement I think you need to go bigger (for the truck that is). The CAT 625 hp is only available in the bigger trucks, but 600 hp works as well.

Those trucks seem huge compared with the trucks in Europe. This Volvo has 700 hp which is not the biggest engine (750 hp). It is probably not suitable for the ETS2 Heavy Cargo DLC (which I do not have for that yet). It is actually a 6x2 taglift, which only has 1 driven axle and the rear axle can lift to turn on a dime. But they have other trucks that are 6x4, or 8x4 with 2 driven axles along with another axle for support.

There you start out with 4x2 which carry more fuel than the biggest ATS trucks.
