So when do the other 47 States release?
Been playing ATS since picking it up in the summer sale. Pretty much explored the whole of California, Nevada and Arizona. So I'm wondering when the rest of the states will be released and added to the game, so we have more places to drive to and explore?

If they choose to make them.

New Mexico is being released soon, but as far as the other states, your guess is as good as any.

New Mexico is on the short term horizon for release perhaps as early as September/October. I would expect to see another couple of the larger surrounding states released in the following 6 months. There is likely to be some grouping of the smaller states into later releases. This game could have a lifespan of 3-5 years for additional DLC content release.

There are mod maps available that although not as detailled as official SCS releasea will allow you to expolore a bigger area if you so choose.

Hopefully we will see new Mexico sometime this year. Then if we are lucky another state next year.

The short answer to this is whenever SCS gets around to it...
If you are just too impatient to wait for SCS to release the rest of the US, then you should look into the map mods, Coast to Coast, VivaMexico and Canadream.
With these you can drive the entire US and most of Mexico and Canda, the scenery isn't great due to the lack of prefabs that "fit" those areas, but it's better than nothing if you just can't get those panties unbunched... lol

If they keep going at a rate of 1 State per year, some of us won't see the completion of the US for this game. They were able to do most of Europe at release. What's the hold up?

You have to look at the size comparison, the entire US is bigger than the entire European area, so yeah, they got most of it finished because there was really less of it to do in the first place...

Hmm... still couldn't do better than two States at release and an Arizona addon shortly after?

LOL,

Even with all the additional DLC, Going East, Scandinavia and France DLC packs there is still only about 2/3 of Europe covered.

They could of just stuck with Eurotruck and not brothered with America. Three states are better than nothing.

I don't know how big SCS staff is for ATS, but lets try a test...
How about, oh, say 6 of us, who've probably never been to Europe, try to recreate the entirety of it, with all the "little details" and do it in less than a year. Let's not forget we have to make it realistic, so we better get the terrain, plants, animals and people correct or someone's gonna be b**chin' about it...
We can't make it 1:1 scale, that would just be too big, so let's make it half-scale. No, can't do that, it's too small now, so now we have to rescale all of what we have done so far or just start over.

Hmm, this is starting to sound quite familiar... ~wink~

This is true.

I love ATS even with only 3 states. Would I like more? Of course I would! However, I don't travel down a road and think oh well that is off my list of roads to travel. Even if I have driven down the same road 100 times and most probably I have, I don't think I am sick of that road. I just love to drive and I especially love to drive in the U.S. It does not matter how many times I have been through a city or driven down a road or delivered every cargo there is. I just love to drive!
nightkill41 Aug 12, 2017 @ 11:02am
Granted. But they saw a potential fan base and decided to capitolize on it, rather than wait for ETS2 to die down and then make the ATS. Maybe you're right... I haven't looked at the size comparison of the US and Europe, but going over tha same roads again and again creates boredom.
Asigion Aug 12, 2017 @ 11:09am
Boredom is a modern day thing. When I was younger I never heard anyone ever say, I am bored. Now I hear it all of the time!
