ATS Guide

Hello everyone!

I have been working on updating my guide for the past week now as i had promised it to be updated for the past few months but have unfotunatly had to keep putting it off!

The ATS Rescale Update as i like to call it has finally been done! The guide is approximately 97% where i want it to be so far with a few little tweaks i will be adding over the next week or so. As far as i am concerned there is nothing missing from the guide that would be detrimental to you in any way in finding what you are looking for.

Rescale Update notes.

• Over 120 new images added (to replace old pre-rescale ones and new images too)
  
• New Dev Cam console commands
  
• New sections for Dev Cam teleporting to cities in preparation for incoming states
  
• New section added for Sightseeing and finding cool locations to visit

Yet to come

• More Dev Cam console commands still to add
  
• 1 more picture to be added to the General Achievements section
  
• Heavy Cargo DLC achievements
  
• More Sightseeing locations to add but its like 1am dude...

I hope that for those of you that have seen the guide previously or have commented asking when it will be fully updated this will come as good news! Now im literally going to bed i have work in the morning

Apologies for the very long delay in keeping the guide updated. Unfortunately I am a very busy person and cannot do everything

I have finally gotten around to updating the guide for the majority of the New Mexico DLC and Heavy Cargo DLC, there is just the issue of that one NM achievement that requires over 40 images to be added...ugh why!

There are now yes but I am pretty sure my guide was one of the first if not the first guide on Steam for ATS when it released. I would also rather it was updated than outdated.

Well done. I am sure your guide was the first. It is the guide I always recommend and I hope you will continue to update it for as long as you have the time and the desire. Don't worry about XBL Laberbacke's comment, there is not guarantee other guides will be updated as the game grows. It is a huge effort and time consuming job and I certainly appreciate the work you have done.

Apologies for leaving the guide outdated for so long, I have not updated it to current content as such but I have laid out some of the groundwork for an upcoming guide updating marathon where I will probably not leave the house for a week while I spend all my time updating the guide lol. There is a huge amount of work that goes into guide making and there are some character limits to consider too so it really does take massive dedication to updating such a huge thing. Tonight I have just spent around 3 hours on the groundwork preparation as follows.

You are certainly a dedicated person. The work involved in making a guide which needs to be updated every time a new state or new content is added is not an easy process and I admire you for doing that. I wish you well not only with your guide but also in your personal life.

Technically today is now the 27th November as it is almost 12.30am BUT today is Day 1 of beginning the MASSIVE update process of the guide. I will update this post with each days progress rather than spam comments so hopefully it will show what has been done each day. I have this week off work so hopefully that is enough time to finish updating.

Day 1 - 26/11/19

7pm GMT

• Steam Autumn Sale (My Wallet still groans...), bought all relevant DLC I didn't already have. This was Forest Machinery, Special Transport, Utah, Oregon & Washington.
  
  
• Began downloading and installing all DLC and preparing myself for the first task

8pm GMT - 12am GMT

• Because I am OCD, I HAVE to 100% the map first, started with Utah and explored approximately 50-65% of the entire state in 4 hours.

Day 2 - 27/11/19

6.40am GMT - 10.28am GMT

• 100% Utah Road Exploration

3.30pm GMT - 7.12pm GMT

• Started Oregon Road Exploration - approximately 60-70% explored

Day 3 - 28/11/19

10.19pm GMT - 12.46am

• Oregon + Washington Road Exploration - Total Exploration 85%

Day 4 - 29/11/19

12.02pm GMT - 2.40pm GMT

• Oregon + Washington Road Exploration

5.08pm GMT - 6.56pm GMT

• Oregon + Washington Road Exploration - Total Exploration 90%

At this point I am back at work full time, real life stuff got in the way on my week off and now work will slow progress in updating. It also took longer than I expected to 100% the map but I am a completionist so it must be done :P

• Reorganised A-C and N-O Dev Cam Teleport Codes Sections so Cities are now listed alphabetically instead of North to South locations

This is a long process as it includes having to try out multiple combinations of letters that form the city names in order to find short relatively future proof combinations that work to
teleport you to each city. Because new cities are added in DLC that potentially have the same letter combinations or start with a certain letter, older codes sometimes no longer work meaning I have to go through EVERY single city in the game to ensure they are all correct and working. In some cases there are multiple cities of the same name so it is not possible to teleport to them despite trying many different options. In most cases here
the codes have been shortened to just 2 letters instead of 3 or more and some are a little more future proof, this means they are closer to unique codes for a specific city such as using 'ae' for San Rafael knowing that there will likely not be another city with the letter a and e together probably for a while.

Day 7 - 11/12/19

1.04pm GMT - 4.09pm GMT

• Replaced 51 Images with updated guide image naming process
  
• Removed all images that were replaced from the guides image library
  
• Added new Companies to General Achievements Company Collector Achievement to include Companies added with DLC
  
• Added a new section called General Achievements Part 2 due to Steam Guide character limits...
  
• Added a warning message to the Introduction Section due to the ever increasing size of the guide
  
• Replaced California Dreamin' & Silver State Achievements map images with a new map image that now includes the new surrounding visible States as opposed to just black space where new States are located
  
• Fixed a typo in California Dreamin' Achievement section
  
• Replaced Nevadas Silver State Achievement Icon image as previously it appeared more grey in the background, it is now appearing correctly as a black background

5.35pm GMT - 8.51pm GMT

• Replaced 27 Images with updated guide image naming process
  
• Removed all images that were replaced from the guides image library
  
• Added Clifton to list of Arizona Cities needed to visit for Copper State Achievement
  
• Replaced Copper State & Land of Enchantment Achievements map images with a new map image that now includes the surrounding visible States as opposed to just black space where new States are located
  
• Fixed two typos in Truck Stop Tour Achievement Section
  
• Added 36 images to Truck Stop Tour Achievement Section FINALLY!!
  
• Removed the **to be updated** text from the New Mexico DLC Achievements Section title

Total images added/replaced to the guide today - 114, although many of these were replacements, the process is the same so this is a huge number, there are approximately 240 images total to replace/add.

Day 8 - 13/12/19

In case it wasn't obvious I took some time off over Christmas so unfortunately the updating process had been delayed and has taken longer than I would have liked to have it fully updated but I am trying to get it done hopefully before Idaho is released.

Thanks aside from it being very long, tedious and draining to update I am glad to be back updating it as it desperately needed it. Have just finally finished adding those pesky 36 images that have been missing from Truck Stop Tour achievement since New Mexico released lol...

Just an update on my current situation and possibility of updating the guide properly again.

Time and money is no longer an issue for me so theoretically I could at some point do another overhaul update on the guide. That being said I do have alot of stuff to do other than ATS so no guarantees as to when but it is on my list.

Did the developer kill this hack? I changed both items in the config file and saved it but nothing happens when hitting the ~ key or the zero key (not num pad)
