Imagine no Trackir, no Actual Eaton fuller shifters like SKRS? or one you've made yourself, no button boxes. Aaand as for mods? editing mod files on a PS4 FFS.
No, glad it's pc only...
Yes, Bomerswarm2 is definately a Troll !!
on a serious note, games like Minecraft and Prison Architect are relatively easy to port over to console and run with a smooth 30 or 60 FPS cap on them. But games like ATS, ETS2, OMSI, Assetto and IRacing are almost impossible to port over to Console because of the restrictions posed by consoles themselves.
I mean, take Battlefield or Project cars, on Console the games run fine and you can get addicted but you have to live with constant glitches and frame drops because of just consoles in genreal, whereas the PC version is as good as your PC build, which means you can get really smooth gameplay and a lot more fun and skill out of a PC version than a Console.
Also, you have to bare in mind that what keeps games like ATS, ETS2 and OMSI alive for so long is the mod support and the easy to use mod systems, which are non existent on consoles.
Furthermore, the whole "Simulator" branding will always be a PC exclusive thing because of mods and the fact that with a PC, you can pretty much code a game to do anything and everything and not really hit too many issues, but with consoles, youre limited by the technology and the sheer restrictions of a console.
Thats why, unless Consoles seriously jump up in technology and optimisation and meet the same standards as PC, youll never ever, ever see games like this on a console.
. Consoles games can be modded (Skyrim SE, Fallout 4)
i agree, but it is stupid to put games that really rely on a mouse and keyboard setup, like RTS games in particular, onto consoles which replace fluidity, speed and accuracy of a mouse with a joystick. on the other hand, games simple to play with a joystick (and in many cases, much easier to play with a controller than a mouse and keyboard), such as a Truck Simulator, rarely end up on consoles.
