Any Engine sound loud "realistic" recommendation?
any recommendation for an engine sound mod? I want something loud, but also "realistic"
it doesn't have to be a pack specifically, because I'm currently driving a W900

Anything touched by kriechbaum. His engine sounds are the best.

oh well, that is the one I donloaded, not loud enough :/
Get the Viper 389 and the old soundpack for it. Maybe screaming Detroits are your thing!

The N14 sounds amazing IMO

You can edit the sound level of the wind and the tires in your config to lower them if you want a louder engine sound

uset s_interior_volume "1.0"
uset s_wheel_noise "1.0"
uset s_air_noise "1.0"

Note this is the config file in your profile (not the general config file in the ATS root folder) and if you haven't played in there before, make a copy before changes so you can revert back to the way it was. These numbers can be less than whole, i.e. 0.54 etc.

I reduced the last two to 0.5 and it enhanced the quality of the engine sound nicely.

Thanks for the info.

Ok, thanks!

Correct, if you have more than one profile just look at the last save date to find the one you are currently using.
get real engine sounds

This is Krieichbaum's SoundPack 2.5,, uploaded by someone else, without KK's knowledge. The only difference is, the uploader add a different indicator sound.
I mean, really? KK says he doesn't mind because it is an old sound pack.
Currently he's working on a new DD60 engine and probably coming up to sound pack v3.0 soon.
But yeah, nobody makes better engine sounds for SCS games than Kreichbaum. He da King.
Freightliner classic and the authors Authentic sounds.. Detroit diesel 60 series
