Thrustmaster TMX

I just got a thrustmaster and i'm trying to play ATS with it but the damn ATS is trying to say there is nothing there no controll or wheel so i'm like what the hell is wrong with ATS because there was clearly my Thrustmast TMX connected tothe My computer and ATS would not read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

go to controls and input wizard and see if that works your steering wheel may not be compatable

I have one, they work awesome and he's right you have to do the whole wizard setup thing again! I take it you downloaded all the driversfrom thrustmaster ... I have the TH8A shifter with skrs shift kit and love it!!! good luck...

i am new to this and i can not figure out what i am doing wrong

Go to he Controlls settings. Then select the drop down box under where it says "Keyboard and Mouse". Select your TMX (make sure you have all drivers installed first). Then choose controller type -> Wheel. Go through the Wizard and the button mappings and you are good to go.

running a dell inspiron 5680 gaming desktop with windows 10.
they're both up to date in the control panel.

Make sure they are plugged in and functional before starting the game. Once the game registers what to use (controllers, audio device), it usually will not change until restarted.

I've tried it a bunch of ways.
One plugged in when i start, both, neither.
Everything reads good in the control panel and i can run all the tests.

I am going to try again after work to uninstall and reinstall the devices. Again...
Someone from another discussion offered to help me walk through it to make sure i'm doing everything right and see if they can figure out why it's not working for me.

Make sure the steering wheel is set to ps3 mode I have a T150 and have zero issues.

Make sure your wheel and shifter are plugged directly into your computer using a USB2 port and not a USB3 port or a USB-hub. I also suggest you download and install the Thrustmaster Firmware and software for your wheel again. Make sure you have no other controller plugged in when you install them. Here is the link.

When installing the Firmware and software for your wheel do not plug in your wheel and pedals until you are requested to do that. Once your Firmware and software is installed correctly leave the Thrustmaster control panel at default settings (do not change anything).

He has done that. Wheel and shifter is detected on the computer. All functional in the Thrustmaster Control Panel. When the game is launched nothing is detected. From what I could tell, the unit is defective on the software side of things. Drivers were installed, firmware updated, bootloader option tried(holding L3 and R3 buttons when plugging in). ATS is not the only game that is not detecting the wheel. He got the wheel from Amazon so he is going to do a return and replacement.

Reinstalling Firmware and software sometimes helps regardless of whether it is functioning or not. It certainly would not hurt and could help. We always assume players do everything right and they sometimes don't so going back to basics I believe is always the best policy.

If he is returning the wheel then that is fine but I still think he should do what I suggested first. If it a brand new wheel he has then it should work although sometimes you can be unlucky and get a dud but I think you should exhaust all options before returning the wheel. Contacting Thrustmaster support as well if what I have suggested doesn't work.

It is funny, I read through all the postings in this thread and I did not read any other posting from you except the one in response to my post. Am I missing something?

If people have already given advice I never repeat that advice out of respect for that person and I only ever try to give advice when I see no one has offered that advice previously.
