straight pipes
Do you all think there might be a chance for straight pipes on the kenworth ? I have seen several kenworth W900 pass through town that had plain straight pipes on them. 3 of these looked lowered to the ground. they were so cool looking, if I see them I will make sure that I have my camera with and snap a photo or 2

It's possible but I'm sure Paccar would want SCS to customize the trucks like what they have. I mean with the ICON W900 out, the truck itself is modeled slightly after it but doesn't have the modifications like the truck does.

The 2 options for the w900 long nose front are not straight one is a plain pipe and the other has a heat shield with the tips bent. The peterbuilt has the straight pipe option.

I have no idea if SCS will add this or not and waiting for it to be added by SCS may take a very long time. If you like the W900 which I assume you do there are mods which can enhance it.

I have always liked the W900 since it was released, it is a beast of a truck. Although, I have many mod trucks I still like driving it. I like it as a vanilla truck but I love it as a modded truck.

If you want straight pipes and straight pipes sound then try these mods:

http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=212&t=201930

The first mod will give you many enhancements to the truck, including straight pipes. Don't worry if when you see your truck after you add the mod there are missing parts, it is not a confilct, just go to the repair shop and add the parts.

The second mod is the sound mod from the master of sound and it has the Cat C15 straight pipes sound, which I think is amazing.

Now, if you want to enhance your truck even more then try the following mods:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=746087063&searchtext=custom+purple+metalic+skin+for+w900

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=766735630&searchtext=custom+alcoa+rims

The first mod is the paint job I have on my truck.

The second mod adds great wheels and tyres. Just make sure to select the tyre first and then select the rim etc. I use the custom ones.

Will they work with the current update? I am on the beta and they are working just fine. If you have problems with them then look at other mods you have.

I do not know whether you like mods or not, some people don't. In this case please forgive me for suggesting these mods and just make a comment and when I next check forum I will remove my post. Please do not quote it if that is the case, otherwise I cannot remove it.

If you do like mods and like my suggestions, then enjoy!

For the fun of it I put the ext sound files into the int folder and created a mod. It in fact sounds prety good. I like to think of it as "rolling down my windows". If youre interested I can send it to you.

@Airborne Trooper, I am sure your mod is very good and I am in no way suggestion otherwise.

However, there is a mod which enhances all sounds in the game and it has an option for open and closed window. I use this mod and also use the open window option with Kriechbaum's straight pipe sound I listed above. It sounds truly superb.

Sorry, forgot to add the mod. : )

Its not very good Willy but does what I need in a simple way ;)

I had Kirchenbaums soundpack on my other profile that was level 53 (no cheats) and it hosed the profile. Ive never been able to get truck sounds working on it since I disabled the mod. I tried a bunch of tricks thne finally decided it was time for a new profile anyway. Infact Ill be starting new profiles with every point release form now on. Got to lvl 28 since the 1.6 public beta. Ready for a new guy with the final release.

Straight pipe refers to not having mufflers, not the shape of the pipe

I am refering to the tips being bent and my comment does NOT mention Mufflers.
