Lets not. Seeing many peoples drive styles and the ♥♥♥♥♥ that would be synicing traffic without rubber banding due to 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥ connection would be absolute hell.

The "real" traffic is bad enough.

I really do hope you are referring to the AI, as ther are cars for players to drive. However, I do agree with the previous answers, it would be horrible. DESYNC for other players causes rubberbanding issues anyway, adding AI into the mix would just be super difficult on the servers, as well as players because of internet connection restrictions.

With how even a large game developer can't sync traffic in a 32 player lobby(GTA V) easily, I doubt it's even plausable for MP.

I haven't played multiplayer since last summer, but they had cars on the truckersmp. It was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible. They were overpowered and near uncontrollable. You'd be driving down the highway and someone would fly into you at like 190mph ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ your truck and load up completely.
Not to mention the near constant trolling there was by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in cars and people trying to play "police".

I know this is a dead topic, but I really want this to be a thing. As much fun as this game could be in MP, it's just nothing if you don't have any other traffic or random events on the road like you do in SP. Half the fun of this game is dealing with other vehicles, and driving around empty streets or just in a convoy with your friends will never be anywhere near as fun as driving through a living world. I really don't know if it's even possible, but if there's any chance of making this work, I hope someone is trying. Otherwise, TruckersMP just seems like a huge waste of time.

Thanks for the response. It's nice to see that it is possible, it's just too bad that it's probably not going to happen anytime soon. I have to wonder why he's the only developer working on it since I'm sure there are plenty of people who'd be happy to pitch in on this just to get it done.

There used to be 2 developers(or was it 3?), but one of them(RootKiller, original concept) left to join SCS and the other I don't know. Now it's just mwl4 developing it, afaik.

I'm sure there are dozens who wish to help further develop TMP. In my opinion, it seems keeping the source-code as closely guarded as possible is first priority. To keep a hold on the only ETS2/ATS Multiplayer mod available with no competition.

Thanks for all the info. I'm still new to this community and I'm learning as I go. But after discovering how much fun I can have with a Logitech wheel and VR with this game, I know I'll be spending a lot of time trucking in the future.
