Can't Buy a Peterbilt?
So. I'm back. This time with a bug, which I'm fairly sure has to do with the Project West mod.

So, I'm at level 15, I recently bought a garage so I could hire my first driver (yeah, I don't take loans :P). I attempted to quick travel to San Diego and buy a Peterbilt because I didn't have enough money for a Kenworth. I could go to the dealer, but where the truck (the one you're trying to buy) should be displayed, it is a black screen; it also says it is a MAN dealer in Berlin. I drove down to San Diego and got the same results.

It seems that people have had this issue because of map or truck mods, but it seems that for them the dealer building disappears comepletely from the map; Peterbilt dealers are still on the map, but they are essentially rendered useless. Kenworth dealers work fine.

The only major mod I have is Project West, which I'm pretty sure is causing the problem. If it is any help, I also have Tonopah Reworked (which is compatible with PW), aradeth's "Hollywood Sign" mod, and three "real life logo" mods from the Steam Workshop. Can it be confirmed it's a problem with PW? Also, is there a fix besides completely removing the mod? PW is such a great mod I don't want to take it out. :steamsad:

do you have any custom mods loaded (like for a mann truck?) that might be conflicting with the dealerships?

yup, I guess reading that last paragraph might help... Unload those mods and see where you get? Don't completely uninstall them, just disable them or create a new profile without them loaded. I think you've answered your own problem. The mods maybe incompatible with the new updates.

This sounds more like a truck mod than the map mods. I haven't used the current PW mod but I did use the previous version without any problem. It does change certain things around San Diego but changing the Peterbilt dealership to a Berlin Man dealership I would think highly unlikely. Some truck mod which has been ported from ETS2 would be more likely.

Check your game log in Documents, that should tell you what errors are occuring and may provide your answer.

Other than that, I suggest you create a new profile and after you have made your first delivery which activates the profile, save the game. Then add the map mods and make deliveries until you have a loan large enough to buy a truck and then either drive to San Diego or if you have the devoper's console set up use the goto command to fast travel to San Diego.

If you do not know how to set up the developer's console, read Xpliciit's guide in the Guides section at the top of the screen. He explains how to set it up and commands you can use.

If you find the dealership is ok then you can simply save the game and use the profile to check any other mods which you suspect are causing problems. After you have found the culprit which is causing the problem you can load a previous save game before adding the culprit and save the game again. Now you have a profile for checking mods in the future.

Reading your post again it does sound like you have the developer's console set up already and can quick travel. Just ignore that information.
