Does Horsepower affect Fuel consumption?
I got the Scania T mod for ATS. It has 2 engines that look promising but not sure which to choose. It has a fuel capacity of 350 gallons.

First Engine is called the DC MAX-V8:
Horsepower: 230 (169kW)
Torque: 4,500 Nm @
RPM: 1,000 - 1,500

Second Engine is called the DC16 103 Euro 6:
Horsepower: 1300 (962kW)
Torque: 6,200 Nm @
RPM: 1,000 - 1,400

Is the second one better? Would it consume more fuel than the V8?

The second one is better in terms of speed. With more horsepower, you are able to go higher speeds, resulting in higher fuel consumption. This will especially be true if you have Realistic Fuel Consumption enabled.

Ah. Well the sad news is I just found out that the REAL Scania T mod does NOT have the second engine at 1300hp. The one I installed was someone's edit. I feel bad now that I was using a "fake/cheat" engine.

Well, at least you know how to use a search bar unlike most of the people on steam. I guess I would go with the first one then for realism.

Happy Trucking!

Kinda was suspicious when I first saw 1300hp engine. Thats, what, the same HP as a Bugati?

More. The Bugatti Veyron has 1200 hp.
