FPV Kamikaze Drone

FPV Kamikaze Drone

Drone controller configurations. Throttle, Yaw, Pitch, & roll configurations. Modes 1, 2, and 3 described in this post.
I bought this game (and x-box controller for PC) to see if I'd enjoy flying a drone, but the controller options felt very awkward, so I asked I asked an AI to describe the different configurations that drone pilots use. See below for help in this regard, I'm thinking Mode 2 is probably going to be the one I use, and apparently is the most popular "mode" IRL.

(NOTE: There is no way as of right now to select these "modes" in the game. The "modes" are simply real life configurations that drone pilots select to use IRL, so you'll need to input these selections manually.)

Here's a description of Modes 1, 2, and 3 for drone joystick controls using pitch, roll, and yaw as descriptors:

## Mode 1
- Left stick:
- Vertical axis: Throttle (up/down)
- Horizontal axis: Yaw (rotate left/right)
- Right stick:
- Vertical axis: Pitch (forward/backward)
- Horizontal axis: Roll (left/right)

## Mode 2
- Left stick:
- Vertical axis: Throttle (up/down)
- Horizontal axis: Yaw (rotate left/right)
- Right stick:
- Vertical axis: Pitch (forward/backward)
- Horizontal axis: Roll (left/right)

## Mode 3
- Left stick:
- Vertical axis: Pitch (forward/backward)
- Horizontal axis: Roll (left/right)
- Right stick:
- Vertical axis: Throttle (up/down)
- Horizontal axis: Yaw (rotate left/right)

Mode 2 is the most common configuration for drone pilots, especially in the United States[1][4]. It places all directional controls (pitch and roll) on the right stick, with throttle and yaw on the left stick[4].

Mode 1 is similar to Mode 2 but swaps the vertical axis controls between the sticks. It's more popular in some countries outside the US, particularly for fixed-wing RC aircraft[3].

Mode 3 is less common but may feel more natural to those accustomed to first-person shooter (FPS) video game controls[2]. It places all horizontal movements (roll and yaw) on separate sticks, with vertical movements (pitch and throttle) on the vertical axes.

The choice of mode often comes down to personal preference, prior experience with RC vehicles or video games, and what's commonly used in your local flying community[3][4].

I assume you're asking if the game works with mapping your controller. I don't know, I'm using an amazon X-box style controller made to work with PC. The game automatically detected it.
However if I used that weird Steam application that's on the library page of the game, it wouldn't detect it.

Yes, i have a RC USB Controller for simulator. It works in other Sims good and would detect as a "Game Controller" in Win 10. I have not understand what you mean with the last sentence? You mean it is better to start the game without steam? or what? It was be grade when it works für my Controller for radio controlled modells.

In regards to your last sentence, on the Steam page, where you press the play button to play this game, there USED to be a "Steam Controller" button/application that when pressed, would take you to another page where Steam set-up your controller to work with the game.

It no longer appears on that page, probably because using it made the game not work, so the option to use that is gone. So you can ignore my prior last sentence.

As far as getting your controller to work. I saw in other threads that they need to custom build programming for each unique controller. My guess is that if you want to use this game you'll need to buy a PC X-box style controller off of Amazon, as it sounds like your controller isn't going to be recognized.

But im not the developer, i have no idea, I'm just guessing.
