I guess the benefit for them is their item requests will show up for you regardless of if you're playing on the same server?
Pretty sure people back then confirmed on the Discord that they only ever sent one friend invite but once you denied or removed them afterwards (I added some people only to help them with some stuff and tried unfriending after that) that the game would continually send you requests by the same people. I had this happen with a dozen of players myself and I really doubt that they all spammed me intentionally. I ended up (re)adding them all as I didn't want to block them.
Perhaps the party system is similarily affected. Maybe a few will spam you intentionally, but you should still keep in mind that you're playing a game where even the most basic things don't always work at all or as intended. These social systems are no exception. Kind of pathetic in a social/cozy MMO if you think about it, but it sadly is what it is I guess.
It happens. People like your name, or your outfit, or just want friends and saw you on the list. Just hit decline.
This is somewhat unsafe for children and this game surely atracts kids to play it.
The notification is needed of course but why not just the notification and the options available only under the Social window?!
So I do find it weird that friend requests are much more plentiful in this game than any other I have played. It's not a bad thing, I was merely asking along for curiosity sake
Certainly not, but most people say hi or at least talk first beforehand lol
I usually ignore them, but was curious if maybe I was missing something.
No, you have to specifically go into your plot information and grant each individual person permission to have access to stuff on your lot. Friends can also not access your lot when you are not there, and you have the option to lock your lot to everyone if you are there.
There i zero way some random can harvest your plot.
