December Update :: Palia General Discussions

They teased a patch for the 17th.

Curtains and some new colors for furniture, as well as a "snowball fight" mechanic of some sort seem to be the only content additions.

They haven't said anything about taking time off or not though.

Because we NEED a snowball fight mechanic right? And we NEED new colors for furniture that we probably wont be able to see since that's broken also. And yea, curtains that only go on 1 wall but not actually over windows? SIGH ... I would prefer they fix their broken and bugged quests so I can move on with the game. How hard is it to fix a broken cauldron that apparently at one time worked???!!!

It's hard when you have a skeleton crew. This game is in a very bad state. Don't expect much progress to happen fast. It's a game that's limping along and will from here on out. Just try to enjoy what you can out of it and play other games until they fix things, but don't hold your breath.

Is this the only game you guys play?

There was an entire Steam sale awhile back to pick up new games, and there are also many F2P games aswell.

Another Steam sale starts on the 19th, therefore just grab a few games and stop crying about updates. We're going to get Elderwood in 2028...

Till then just find something else and stop counting the days, it will feel like the update will happen much sooner, like in early 2025 or something.

So, you got any other games to play that you're all this hung up on slow update deliveries for this game?

The first item on their patch notes is an "in case you missed that this thing has been in the game for a year now here's a reminder."

There's not even a mention of the snowball flashing in bug fixes or known issues. Didn't see the Tamala cauldron bug mentioned either.

The new premium outfits are priced weird, the one that contains 3 parts is cheapest and the one that's just a dress, super simple, is more expensive. Cause they know some people are gonna buy that crap.
I regret spending money in the premium shop, I was blinded by being a new player and the start of the game is really good. Then you see the truth.

It really is a joke.

This premium shop update just screams grift to me.
"We won't let you buy outfit sets per piece, but you can now buy this single piece separately tho!" it's just some office christmas party dress, zeki's top hat (literally stolen from him lmao) and the free chappaa beanie with sernuk ears added.
Then there's the pets, telling you to buy it again just for a festive hat... BUY IT AGAIN AT FULL PRICE JUST FOR THE HAT.
Some discount on summer outfits and a lazy reskin of the broom outfit, but hey if you already own the broom outfit this reskin is cheaper!
That creepy beekeper costume was in the files since like january last year or something, surely december was the perfect time to release it, right?

You can feel that they are drowning, it's palpable, but it's like they refuse to do anything about it, shoo the lifesaver away "I'll save myself thank you very much!".
Could've added a kiss under the mistletoe emote, would've sold a million times more than whatever those are. Even being a single sided emote where you can pose yourself kissing your favorite villager on the cheek.

I'm thinking this game director doesn't even like his game or play it, he's just looking for random ideas that stick.
