Cooking doesn't force you to party though, there's one weekly challenge that is required to do with other player, but that's it.
All the dishes are easily doable solo
Having said that, while I like the mechanics that multiple players with partial ingredients can come together and make a single dish together, that they all can collect from the stove/oven/station.. I do find it a bit cumbersome with too many bodies in the kitchen and/or stations not available for you.. Also if you don't pay attention to the ingredient list to see if something's already been made or if someone is currently working on it, you can easily end up remaking an ingredient someone else is, and at that point you're just wasting time and resources.. So there's some upsides, but I think if you're not coordinating with your party as to who has what and is prepping what, it might not go as well as it could..
I'm not bragging or anything but had problem with petite fives only first couple of times. You just need to find optimal order in which to do it and it's not really hard. I always get plenty of time left after I made them. At least 1 minute more is always left when I make last move
