Top Things for New Players to know?

Myself, my fiance and my sub are considering playing this game; havent found a good game that we could all play together and relax (video game I mean) since Return to Moria.

Is there any tips or anything we should know getting started?

Is it difficult to group up with friends / loved ones?

Private servers? Is there PvP?

That sort of thing. I have read about the game to some degree but there isn't as much information as I'd like and very little from the point of view of people actually playing it rather than some nobody doofus at one of the online gaming mags.

It's possible to play all in one party (mind you, I'm still new to this game), but there are limitations. Some places, like house plots, are private although having visitors and editors to your plot is unlockable. Also, although it defaults to putting you all in the same server, sometimes it's not possible (special events, I'm finding, that are too popular and folks get split up on occasion). In a party though, you all share resources looted which is nice! I'm really hoping they add more co-op features. No private servers, but there's party exclusive chat. No PvP - it's a cozy game.

You can't do the temples in a group and must complete them solo. If someone is having a hard time with the jumping puzzles, you can't go in and help them.
