i'm not sure how to fix this. Any help before I go to support?

I am not able to put my tools away. When I press R to pull one out to use it. I then go in and press R and choose the very bottom circle to put away. I had no problem with this until I got the bug bomb thing and caught my first butterfly. I turned in the quest and moved on. Then I noticed that my tool seemed in my hand. I could switch between tools but I could not put it away. I used up 2 bug bombs trying to keep my hands clear. It takes completely logging in and out to clear my hands. I am in again right now and my hands showed not tools and I wasn't wasting bug bombs or swinging my ax like crazy.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a something I am doing wrong.

I feel very new to this game so it is possible it is user error and I just am not doing something correctly. I did start when the game first came out but life happened and I couldn't play. I did ask them to delete character recently because I wanted to follow the tutorial quests again because I feel like I have forgotten everything.

if i'm understanding you correctly, you can't put away your current item? if you hold R you can choose different items, yes? try just tapping R. it should put it away.

its an on-going bug thats been happening for a while. my pickaxe got stuck in my hand once but all i did was wait for a few minutes and then it got back to normal. but re-logging is away and option. you can also put things away by pressing "X" and then re-equip the previous tool by pressing "R" once rather than holding it. just a small tip if youre new.

Yes for PC players its X to put it away and have hands free ...
