How do you get seeds?

Ok so I planted and grew carrots and onions. Ok do I have to buy seeds every time?

at the start yes, you buy the seeds from Zeki's general store. Or when you develop your farming ability/friendship with Barduu you sometimes get seeds as gift from him.
But at a certain farming level you can buy a blueprint to make a seed machine, so you can put in your crops to make your own seeds.
