Remove the "Place on ground only" restrictions
PLEASE, eliminate the "place on ground only" item lock, except for maybe the trees. I want to put my Rattan Large Planter in the Bay Window and on table tops, I want to put the Spring Fever Swing up on my stone floor balcony, I want to put my Lily Rattan Umbrella out on my wood floor deck and patio; I want to raise the Spring Fever Pergola up on small crates and use it in lieu of a roof....and more. I don't understand why not, it seems to me this programming is unnecessarily complicated, and would be simpler and more efficient without these restrictions in place.
BTW, I was not playing when this "Christmas Present"? work around was offered, and in spite of that it still seems a "work around" is just adding nuisance complications, rather than simply removing the "ground only" restrictions entirely. Just say'n. It's Beta, you all can change this.

This video is NOT on topic. There is nothing in it about placing "ground only" items off of the ground.

I would like to place books down on surfaces properly, to not have them stand up. It's nice for a bookshelf, but I want a singular book sitting on a table, like someone just set it down for a moment.

Yes please!
Before I started using books in decoration I thought it was possible cause it can be seen in villager homes and library. Was so bummed when they were only standing.
It should be possible to buy books that are horizontal from the library too, not just vertical ones.

I know it's some what of an assle to do BUT, you can find videos about doing that. It is not too tricky but time consuming.
Sadly most of those tricks don't work or are very hard to manage on switch / steam deck, so prepare atleast a mouse and a kb if you are over those platforms.

If you are curious i can recommend ''HorribleGaming'' or ''Fleurs'' who has many tutorials about tricks like this or just speed runs decorations videos who shows tips like those.
