Palia is in early access (beta) and if you peruse the patch notes, this forum or the reddit you will see that is is VERY glitchy, the story is unfinished and it is also very short in story itself. Of course if you're into decorating, Palia's decorating your house/plot wins in this question.
Most of the gameplay hours on Palia will be collecting stuff and decorating your house while grinding villager friend points to unlock quests, these friend points are time gated by real time btw. While most of the gameplay hours on My time at series will be questing, story advancements, fulfilling requests. So they gameplay is essentially different. You decide.
And, if you're into romancing NPCs, My time at has that much more developed than Palia. Palia will just be boring text scrolling even during romancing while in My time at series you will actually do activities and go on dates. Palia only has a total of 4 villager cutscenes right now while My time at has like 4-5 for each villager instead.
I didn't really like the graphics of the Sandrock one.... and the Portia one I don't remember anymore but I stopped playing both after a somewhat short time bc I just didn't like them.
It's a 'personal opinion' type of thing.
Other nice games I played that might be interesting to you:
Pumpkin Days
Garden Paws
Stardew Valley
Dinkum
