Star ingredients should give star food.

Title says it all. Why am I even bothering to gather and use star quality ingredients instead of simply selling them if I get a regular reward from using them anyway? I cook with no fails during the process, have plenty of time left, yet I get regular quality food from my star ingredients. This happens consistently and it makes no sense to me.

in my experience, most cases star ingredients results in star quality output.. there can be occasional exceptions just like the rare occasions where non-star quality ingredients still yield a star quality item..

I think it also depends on your cooking level. I actually prefer to make Muujin Bahari non-star cause Star quality gives 1300+ focus, which you don't even need as maximum focus bar is 1000 and I'd prefer regular Muujin Bahari which is 925. But 9 times out of 10 I get starred even if Muujin meat itself isn't starred

well, not only does the star quality fill the full 1k, but it's decorative too.. so there's a couple reasons to make one..

I was also wondering if anything had a higher focus yield than this item, but it looks like this is the highest focus yielding food available, so thank you for sharing..

There is one. I don't remember exactly which one now (maybe celebration cake?) But I am 100% sure there is another dish that's 1000+

Sure there is a reason. I'm not complaining. Have one placed at picnic table near the pond myself. It's just now I prefer to just sell starred Muujin Bahari, rather than eat myself, so once in a while I'd like to get non-starred ones :D It's not the huge issue though.
