Starred ancient fish is impossible to catch!

I have now hooked at least 8 of these damned fish. And each and every time...it gets away at the last second. I am really really upset about this #. It is the last one I need for Master Kilimar and Bahari collector achievement. I struggle with this as I am disabled, and my hands refuse to work properly, and numb fingers. Does this damned fish need to waggle about and jump quite so much as it does?! The Fish always escapes just as I get it to the bank fgs! I feel I have done well, given my disabilities to catch all the others, including the damned Unicorn fish..after hooking 18 of those swines, i eventually got one. I feel the devs should make these fish and the other stupid rares a little easier to catch if they expect you to get a achievement for it. i cannot for the life of me, find a Starred Gossamer Veil tailed moth..I doubt they even exist! If they want people to go for these achievements..they should at least make it doable! I am now in despair ..at losing yet another one just now.
And for any that just think iam a cry baby, and smart alec comments to come. Yeah...you try doing it if you have MS.

Had it happen a couple times, I just leave the zone and come back.. don't even need to verify game files.. I think it's something to do an unknown issue with loading the environment when the player transitions from one zone to another.. the empty buildings such as this would be a hiccup or glitch where the models don't successfully load, but the game never received any errors or reasons to retry loading the models..

The chappa chase event and RNG fish are the things I hate most about this game.
Fairy Carp, Storm Ray, Ribbon Ray 3 hrs at a time, 2x a day.
I've never caught an ancient fish, blue ray, swordfin.
So hard to catch something in a time window, from the star ponds, waisting bait and buff. Really fustrating. And all of those bugged catches. Just annoying.

I read somewhere that "Value of the Waves" bundle has to be complete and you talk to Hekla, after which this fish is released and "catchable".

Yes..that is true. I completed the vault of the waves ,and all the bundles ages ago now. So i have already done all of that.
i have now just completed the master Kilimar and Bahari fishing..and the master Bug collecting one. So, this is no longer a issue. All done. So I am happy now. No more fishing for me..except for weeklies and for cooking if needed .

Been reading about your struggles Trapdoor. Heart went out to you and so glad you finally managed to get your last fish and bug :) I actually cooked my first unicorn fish by accident before I got a lock box - the air was blue for a while but then bam, you get a star something and you're happy again :) Love this game and its community.

I sold star quality gems before I realized you could place them on your plot.. I'm still trying to get another *Emerald, *Onyx and *Amethyst.. never seen a *Ruby so at least I didn't screw THAT one up..

I just got a starred ancient fish. I was looking for this thread to let you fellas know that it is possible. I fished by the lake right across from Einhar's swamp.

I was going back and forth fishing only at bubbles, but this was the place where I caught it. I needed about 270 glow worms in total.

Oh, it's also unusually agile compared to the other fish, I wasn't really in position for that and almost lost it, so if you get it on your hook be ready.

That's OP's problem.. MS screws with your nervous system and makes it painful and/or difficult to make your body do what it should be able to normally.. My wife has either MS or Fibromyalgia herself and still seeing doctors to find out what it is, but it keeps going back and forth.. there's things out there that are worse (ALS), but MS sucks because you look normal on the outside but are dying on the inside and have to wear a smile.. Think of how wires have the positive and negative leads separated by insulation/coating.. now take away that coating and let the positive and negative occasionally touch and spark.. That's essentially what nerves do when someone has MS..

I agree. Hooked quite a few of them but always failed to catch them at the last moment. It's incredibly frustrating, especially since you can't force them to spawn. Every swarm could produce a number of fishes. If only we had a way to make specific fishes to spawn in them, instead of having a random chance of a sought after fish to spawn only for it to escape in the last possible moment.

Exactly :( Playing games keeps our minds sharp, and takes away some of the boredom of being housebound and in pain all the time. Big hugs to your Mrs..it is not easy to live with. And also hard on their families too.

I feel for ya. Fishing is the absolute worse and rng sucks. Here's what you can do to make it easier:
Go to underground and get the x5 fishing buff from others (or use a rando/friend whatever)
eat sushi and/or sashimi + fishermans brew to stack buffs
(optional) download palia map, tick filter box for anicent fish. Then keep recasting your line until you see the ancient fish icon on the map (this works for all fish)
