Starred ancient fish is impossible to catch!

I have now hooked at least 8 of these damned fish. And each and every time...it gets away at the last second. I am really really upset about this #. It is the last one I need for Master Kilimar and Bahari collector achievement. I struggle with this as I am disabled, and my hands refuse to work properly, and numb fingers. Does this damned fish need to waggle about and jump quite so much as it does?! The Fish always escapes just as I get it to the bank fgs! I feel I have done well, given my disabilities to catch all the others, including the damned Unicorn fish..after hooking 18 of those swines, i eventually got one. I feel the devs should make these fish and the other stupid rares a little easier to catch if they expect you to get a achievement for it. i cannot for the life of me, find a Starred Gossamer Veil tailed moth..I doubt they even exist! If they want people to go for these achievements..they should at least make it doable! I am now in despair ..at losing yet another one just now.
And for any that just think iam a cry baby, and smart alec comments to come. Yeah...you try doing it if you have MS.

i am sick to death of making a ton of fishing buff food..and wasting it all. The buffs do not last long..and the nodes don't spawn often enough either. The RNG..is terrible. And Yes..i use all of the buff foods for fishing and fish hooks bought from Einar. I am now almost out of tokens to buy more hooks, because i got the Aquarium first. i am so mad and angry...yeah, at myself too. i have caught all the rest of them. But its just this B&$tard. i actually feel like giving up playing altogether because of this and go back to playing Ark! Its easier on there to catch a REX than this fish!

And yet again ...fishing at the Maji Fair. I clicked to hook the fish..but instead of hooking it (Yes, I did do it right)...it let the damned thing go instead, by pulling my line up. I did not do it! So the game cheated me out of that try. I think it is bugged ..well and truly. Not worth my time trying to get it. I have wasted days on trying to get it...and fail every single time. It is like it is programmed to jump at the last second..and get away.

sorry if this sound bad, it is not meant to be, but it is a free game, and your life goals are way more important than any game, be proud of what you have done, and try to have fun, it is just a game after all

I know its a free game! what has that got to do with what I wrote? That was not in question. My Life goals? I have none I am afraid. I am 65 years old crippled up and housebound. i try to enjoy this Free game, as a way of coping with my pain and boredom. It does not make it fun however when the game is hell bent against you catching a stupid fish. Why on earth they make it that difficult , I will never know. That is not FUN. Yes..what you said does sound bad. Stop trying to tell your granny how to suck eggs.. I am not a 5 year old. I play Many games harder than this one. But at least they make challenges doable.

I hooked it once along the shore of the lake, and lost it. I didn't even come close to landing it. I then started fishing in the little "lake" where Einar is. I hooked it again and was able to reel it in. It seemed to be much easier to catch in this area but maybe I got lucky, not sure. But I figured it was worth mentioning if you haven't tried that area, maybe it will be easier.

I have been fishing in Einars lake ..and along the shore for ages. This is where I have hooked most of them and lost it. i am also now fishing in Maji fair, hooked one there ..and the game pulled my line up instead of hooking it when I clicked to hook it. So lost that one too. It would have been a easy catch otherwise. seems I got cheated out of that one. hence why I am so angry. i am still trying, but seems a waste of time. I have even been laughed at and mocked for losing the damned thing, by other players. Not nice. There is no need for that. But then you get nasty players in all games..including this one. They should try fishing this fish up with crippled fingers like mine.

I've had that happen, too, where you try and set the hook but the game just pulls the bait out of the water. I'm not sure what causes it, probably a bug. Your experience is matching the one I had with the Flametongue Ray, I spent probably 20+ real time hours just trying to get it to bite. I got sick of it and went and did other things for a day or two and then came back and tried again, caught two in maybe half an hour. The game is strange. Anyway, good luck.

Glad in a way, that I am not the only one that's had that issue too. I have no problem catching that one, (Flametongue Ray) caught several of those. i had issues too with The Unicorn fish. I hooked 17 of those and lost them..the game spawned 18 of those one after another for some strange reason.. I lost 17 of them..finally landed the thing on the 18th one. i suppose i have got to hook another 8 of these things the same way..maybe I will get lucky on number 18 again lol I have hooked at least 10 so far...and lost them.

I'm pretty sure it's not a bug, it's a rare occurrence of getting a nibble or a bite instead of hooking a fish.. I've also noticed when it happens, the fish appears to "bite" at the wrong time.. meaning I'll see the bobber go down twice, and on what should be the 3rd bob, boom! there's a fish swimming around looking like I hooked it and I missed a bob somewhere.. but the fish actually isn't hooked..

I had this happen to me just yesterday while fishing in Bahari. I didn't reel in when the fish started splashing around and then the fish went down and my bobber was still in the water. The school of fish bubbly node for star quality disappeared and I thought I lost my star quality, at which time I saw my bobber bob again, and then he did hook my line and I reeled him in.. star quality even..

you are not alone despising the horrid RNG for certain things. i was at about ninth before finally getting star variety at the maji mart event space. fishing in teams is seeming to loosen the RNG factors and i watched more than a few reel them in there. at the seventh loss i rage quit the game for around 2 months, i was so exhausted emotionally trying to catch that damned fish,lol

I have AT LAST got this damned fish. I have displayed it..and shot frigging arrows at it in my annoyance ... made me feel better lol. Now i cannot put the plaque on the wall because they are bugged. same too with my Muujin plaque. I sure wish they would sort that bug out. I went to Kilimar to Zeki's shop..and there is no furniture..again. So had to come out to verify files....again. So thought i would update this post.

Yes, T know that. i meant his shop in Kilimar Villiage.. general store. None of the shops had furniture in them. I always come off and verify the files when that happens. Then Boom...they are back on login.

A further update for my issue: i have now also caught a Starred Gossamer veiled Moth! I could not believe it. I didnt even realise it was starred til I looked in my inventory. So I am a happy bunny now ) maybe the Game does not hate me after all lol
