Giant Goldfish?!

I'm really having trouble catching the giant goldfish. I've been trying this for weeks. Am I the only one having this "problem"? I've been fishing on the ponds for a long time and have no luck.
Do any of you have any advice.

fish the pond in front of hodari's house and the one in front of Hassian's grove and only fish the hot spots so you get the starred giant goldfish so you're not going for it twice for the achievements.

You can get in a groove and fish the hot spots in one pond, then run over to the other one and fish it and get back before the other hot spots respawn, rinse and repeat until you get the fish.

Just to be sure, you´re using a glow worm to catch it and you try to catch him at day time, right?
If so, i was fishing for like 2 realtime weeks at least 2-3 hours a day for the Long Nosed Unicorn Fish and had no luck.
After coming back after a long break from palia (4-6 months), i got it in like 2 ingame days.
So maybe they increased the catchrate or is just got really lucky :D

i managed to get the unicorn two times back to back on different days recently..you may be onto something, that nvr happened before..

a lot of these fishes really based on luck mostly..i managed to get one when i was casually fishing in the pond in front of my plot after i spent a lot of worms to get one at hodari's place..sorry can't be more of a help..
