Report a translation problem
If you put it before picking up, i've read a bit there and there (mainly on reddit) that it was not working and it seems from what i have tried that it actually does not work.
I'd say best is just keeping manure always on until it's gone or when you put back seeds (since you get your over manure back) and it's all.
If some people have more insight i will be grateful too.

yes i understand the wiki provides a description. it however does not make the game do what it says just because it says. somewhere else ive read, on the palia site known issues.... they know this issue exists, that the plants and fertilizers do not work as intended and are working on fixing it.
