I definitely care, as a new player. It's good to hear positive things about this.
Hey, clownshoes, you do understand that even in the Lord of the Rings lore, female dwarves have beards, right? Or do you not understand such things since you are brainwashed by a different fictional book?
I don't know any of this apparent sordid drama behind Palia as far as developers, et, blah blah blah, I just know that I enjoy playing the game with my spouse. It is fun so far, and as long as they keep the cash shop to cosmetic stuff only, that's fine.
Nobody cares
How is this a good thing when historically, Daybreak destroys the games it buys?
The only ones I can find are Planetside 1, H1Z1, and Just Survive.
Because they don't have a list, it's just made up. Daybreak will be fine for this. I often wish Daybreak would have/can still buy Rift, so that it can be further developed like their other IPs.
I've been seeing this knee-jerk reaction all over the place, talking about how they are the devil, yet I still play Lotro (17 years now) and still pop in to EQII to see what they've done.
I look forward to seeing them move the game forward, and not listening to the doom-sayers who speak with no actual examples, only rhetoric.
Can't wait to see the other zones!
Zones?
Datamining has shown one new one in the works.
At the rate S6 works it'll be 2028 before you get a fourth.
Don't know what is in the datamining, but I'm betting we'll get more as DB ramps up support.
To be fair though that was also when it split from SOE to Daybreak and there were a bunch of others that merged / closed / transferred games and the game was also split between three dev studios in different countries that were doing different releases at different times so the whole thing was a mess.
Shame too because it was a great game and who doesn't love flying and fighting beside a bunch of pet dragons.

As far as Palia is concerned, Daybreak needs to hit a massive major update by October, November, December at the latest. They need to show they're serious about this acquisition, like someone said in an earlier comment, these deals don't just happen over night, there should have been a plan in place before the announcement.
