Palia
Palia keeps defaulting to Integrated GPU
Palia just refuses to use my high performance 4060 card, and is using my integrated graphics instead. I don't have that problem with any other game, and my preferred display adapter in the NVIDIA control panel is my high performance card. Disabling the integrated graphics in the device manager made Palia use the microsoft basic display adapter instead of the 4060. I have an HP Omen 16 if that helps.

I am having this same exact issue on two laptops. No matter what settings I change in windows or nvidia control panel it will not change. I even tried adding that string to the engine file and still didnt work.

rebot your PC/Laptop
go into bios and disable the intern graphics maybe it helps you
Palia can't use it if it's disabled

I have a gaming laptop and disabling internal graphics is not an option.

So you have a laptop with an integrated graphics card but say that you have the same problem as the topic creator?

If you have a gaming laptop with an additional built-in graphics card, you can still deactivate the internal one that runs via the CPU

Can't be turned off via bios as there is no option to do so. If you delete the driver for the integrated graphics then Palia uses some super low quality driver that's even worse than the integrated graphics. The game refuses to use the dedicated card no matter what. Even if there is no other option it still wont. It prefers some random Microsoft basic driver over using the dedicated card.

I'm having this exact same issue, have tried all of the possible solutions that have been listed here, but I just can't seem to resolve this.

Have you run across anything lately?

same thing here, laptop with intel hd graphics 630 and nvidia gtx 1050. really hope there'll be a fix for this in the next patch (bc it seems to me it's an issue with the game, not windows or the hardware) where you can switch graphics card within the game like you can switch monitors too

Freshly installed, having this issue too. Have tried to force it to run on my nvidia gpu but nothing seems to work.

I think the graphics card it says it's using is a display bug. The game says it's using my integrated graphics card, but when I check in the process monitor it's actually using my dedicated card.

You might want to check to verify that it's actually using the incorrect card before you start troubleshooting the issue.

I've submitted a bug report about this.

i hadn't thought of that so i just checked and according to task manager it really is running on my integrated graphics :(

the funny thing is when i open nvidia geforce experience it wants to optimize it to high settings but then when i run the game from there it still defaults to my igpu. really nothing seems to work... i've been playing on switch all this time which is far from ideal but at least there's minimal frame drops and i don't have to worry about my laptop melting lol

I've had the same issue on dell gaming laptop but also my battery dropped to 0% 'plugged in not charging'. It was ignoring NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX even after going through game menu and NVIDIA settings, selected nvidia as the default graphics card and specifically by program. Restarted the game and it made no difference. Couple hours later battery was on 0% no diagnostics or troubleshooting were finding the issue. It's not long been serviced, updated BIOS, new charger etc. Never had the graphics issue with other games and seemed more system issue than usual game errors. Once I uninstalled it today my battery went straight back to 100% and is working fine unplugged for now dropping as expected. I've uninstalled indefinitely. Switch seems ok, Laptop, won't be installing again for the foreseeable.
