Cooking: Stirring stuff

I am new to the game and feeling very frustrated with ruining dishes because I dont get how to stir them. Whats the logic of it? I need to prevent the bubble inside the pot from reaching certain limit? But it changes all the time? Can someone try to explain please? I hate wasting food, even imaginary food...

Just hold down your right mouse button (if you're playing on PC) or if you're on switch I believe you press and hold the ZR button :)

also a quick click of mouse button will get it auto stirring. if it stops hold down till it completely fills and finishes.

Do you mean stirring in a pot: that's holding the LEFT mouse button until the whole pot area is filled wit the orange color.
Or do you mean "flipping" the pan? You hold the left mouse button until you reach that small circle, there you release the mouse button (this is bugged when the circle is exactly at the top (at 12 on a analog watch).

If you play with a controller it's the same button that you use to chop ingredients.

OR do you mean the whole process? You need to prepare the food on a prep station, then add it at the stove, then stir or flip.

Oh thank you thank you! I just thought after chopping stuff that it would have to be the same - clicking the mouse at the right moments and that it had to do with the size of the bubble lol... And I am SO SICK of ramen! I want a steak for dinner!

Holding down the right mouse button does nothing for me. I've logged in and out multiple times. Driving me crazy!

that's probably because it's the left mouse button that works..

One thing worth noting that I haven't seen yet is some dishes will require more than one stir/flip.. So always check the stove you started the recipe at first to see if you need to come back after chopping/mixing a couple of things. If you fail the mid-way stir/flip, you can still make the food and even get star quality, but you will get less items. Instead of 3x, you get 2x.

Oh my gosh, sorry, I meant left. But since that didn't work I tried every button! The game doesn't respond to my mouse at all during cooking. I'm trying to stir the vegetable soup, my first recipe used on the stove.

I'm such a noob. Figured it out. Didn't realize that the prep station was prompting me to add ingredients! Argh, so simple. Silly me. Thanks for taking the time to try to help me
