I'm going to stop playing this game because it's hard to catch long-nosed unicorn fish. But the problem is that it's also hard to find.

It took me a few days to get this fish. I went to the wharf below the light house.

I caught one but then reeling it in it got away and the bar was only half red, is this a bug or design?

the bar rises by the damage they are doing to your line, im assuming and one strong flip as they will flip around. and line snaps. which is where sushi etc come in making the line life longer so the fish has less chance of a miracle escape. and yes they are hard by design.

Google palia map for overwolf. install and select all fish on the app. go to coast at the time 6am-6pm and cast in the water. The app shows an icon of what fish you are going to catch on it's map. if you do not want that fish left click before it bites, wait for the icon to disappear and cast again and repeat until the unicorn fish icon appears :)

It got away from me two times and appeared the third time consecutively (after a looong time catching other fish), either it's designed like that that it gives you second and third chance, or I had incredibly good luck with RNG
