The moderators want to create their own kind of space, and that doesn't include anyone talking about scummy practices. I haven't gotten banned myself, but I've seen tons of others be yeeted for objectively stupid reasons. The CM approves of this all. So the reddit/discord mods, who are essentially a singular team, have the power to ban whoever they choose to from both platforms if they so desire.
The old CM even admitted the new mods had issues being able to moderator objectively without getting mad at people being critical of the game and needed to "learn better" but now she's gone too lol.
Exhausted rn so I'll just leave it at that but yeah it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Ethics aside, not clearly communicating your game is unfinished is one of the worst business decisions I’ve seen a developer make. It does nothing but take advantage of the overly trusting cozy community.
That's the point. If you start pointing out they have unethical business practices, well, you could (depending where you are) have a lawsuit as some countries still care whether businesses are ethical or not. And, I'm willing to bet they just want the money and not the smoke for objectively lying. So of COURSE they will ban people are critical, because if it becomes too much of an issue someone may come digging.
And we wouldn't want that, now would we?
Secondly, you're blaming the wrong company here. The way Palia appears is 100% Nintendo's fault.
S6 clearly labeled their game launcher with "Beta" right on it.
Nintendo did not want this, and demanded its removal from the Switch.
You want to blame, blame the right company.
They need to come up with a new term like "active" or something for games that are still being developed / updated regularly.
They'll probably drop the beta tag after they finish the main story line. If not, it'll be in beta forever.
You’ve said this before. Nintendo didn’t remove “beta” from the main menu. S6 did. You have zero evidence that Nintendo forced them to. And if they were forced, that changes nothing. It’s still unethical and deserves to be called out on both parties.
Did Nintendo also remove “beta” from the palia.com front page and not include “beta” or “early access” on Steam and Epic? 🤣
And I never said Reddit was any sort of authoritative figure. The mods however are chosen and managed by S6. Their response means something because they are official representatives of the devs.
Yup. And they clearly state that Tarkov is in beta on the front page of the website. S6 removed that back in December when they announced the Switch release.
I would agree if Palia was anything resembling a completed project. Consistently adding new things isn’t the same as finishing the foundation.
My apologies. On mobile at the moment.
*I corrected one that was a redundant reply.*
