Palia
New maps
When may we see new maps, or even new items. And why don't you open it up for ideas that the players have. You could even do a contest for let's say glider designs. New animals to hunt and maybe even make new pets. Really would like to see something new other then stuff for our houses.

You can give feedback on the Palia website. As for a roadmap, S6 is pretty high on my list of worst communicating game devs.
Technically, we just got a new map: the ancient ruins.

I wouldn't call temples "new maps". The devs label those as "adventure zones".

A new map would be the Elder Woods, and the Kilima mountain, and the main Bahari city.

I wouldn't hold my breath for any new maps any time this year. If they can get the game into full release by the end of this year, MAYBE we'll see a new map by the end of next year, or the year after (2026).

Data mining has found a lot of work done on an elder woods map but with the layoffs who know when that will get released.

Neat.
but with the layoffs who know when that will get released.
If they let go of 49 people, and that was only 35% of the workforce, I'm thinking that most of the issues with Palia is because there were just too many cooks in the kitchen, as it were.

Palia isn't complex enough to warrant such a large dev team, and maybe management was smart enough (not likely) to just get rid of the slackers, and some real work can start to get done on the game.

From one of the laid off artists via GlassDoor:

"A culture of toxic positivity. Feedback is entirely ignored. Task priorities changing on a daily basis. The least productive company I've ever been a part of. Employees would regularly spend weeks redoing tasks and parts of the game because of management feedback. It felt very demotivating to see how little was accomplished over the course of my employment."

I feel reminded of The Day Before.
