I think fishing in Palia is easier than in some other cozy games like Coral Island etc. Here in Palia I've caught almost all fish already. I think only 3 are missing. My advice is to upgrade the bobber so that you see it well. It's the bobber that should stay inside the brackets, not the fish.
This is true, to an extent. The RNG is incredibly annoying but it's also weirdly hard to get the fishing spots activated. Half the time the fish doesn't even appear or let you target it.
Honestly, it's pretty awful. But I've never played a single game where fishing is anything other than absolute, undeniable torture. The mini-game is always some attempt to make fishing exciting. Except people don't leave the house at the weekend to go fishing because it's exciting. They go because they can't tolerate human company and don't want to be serial killers. It's a way to avoid your wife, sit in silence, and not think at all because you're barely capable of that - which is why it's crushingly boring but doesn't affect them. It's a bit like watching sports, which is almost as bad except you don't get fresh air and it's even more moronic.
So in that, I suppose computer games have managed to simulate fishing accurately but I'd rather be playing powerwash simulator than a fishing game.
It wouldn't be so bad, but they've locked a tonne of quests in the zodiac map thingy behind fishing gates meaning I have no option but to do the activity in the game I hate the second most.
The most hateful activity is, of course, jump puzzles. Because it's always jump puzzles.
I will try that. This is the hardest I have run across, coral island was easy for me. Normally I use a controller, however with this I am forced to use the keyboard because the controller keep facing my character away from everything. In jump puzzles it became a nightmare. I did notice that after you catch the first of a type of fish, it is easier after that. Also I was keeping the fish in the brackets!
I noticed this earlier today i was fishing in a shady spot and i really struggled to see the bobber, so good to know later on can get "brighter ones"
