Why so many glitches with house decoration?
As I am moving onto decoration and extending my house I have run across a ton of glitches and issues. For example, I just built the Bellflower pantry and went to put it in the room I am using as a kitchen .... but for some reason it stayed red no matter where I tried to place it. In fact out of the five rooms I currently have the only one I can put it in is the one you originally start with!!

Also when trying to place lamps and lights I am having issues finding spots to put them. The house is structured with thick door posts both inside and out, perfect to hang lights on, but when I try, both inside and outside, the spots I can actually position them seem totally random. Example, you have a doorway with two thick wooden beams on either side, but only one side will let you hang a light on it.

Outside the house I have the same issue. Tried putting two lamps out front, one either side of the main door and although it let me place them, whenever I leave and come back I find them laying on the ground outside of my plot of land!!!

Interior lights? Most are way to big for the rooms and the height of the character to the point if they were real you would be constantly banging your head on the underside of the light.

Considering how much time and effort and hard drive space (what is it now ... 18 gig of patches so far?) put into the game all the developer seems focused on are flowers, making the game look pretty, while the basics of the game go untended and unfixed.

A simple thing like decorating your house should not be this glitchy!!

I agree but Palia is one of the buggiest games I've ever played. And each update tends to break something major for a while.

The more you play, the more problems you find. Welcome to Palia.

Something that might help a little bit is to hit 'Z' to get rid of the grid and freeform place things. That has occasionally helped me squeeze something into a tight spot.

Your mileage may vary.
