[Feedback] Tools that breaks should not revert back to their previous tier
As per the title. My axe broke, and I made sure to buy repair kits to prepare for that, and it turns out the tool reverts to a previous tier when it breaks, rendering my repair kits useless.

I wasn't aware of that, the game doesn't tell you (if it does and I missed it, let me know). Had I known that, I'd keep materials as backup or make sure my tool doesn't lose all its durability...

It's such a weird design decision. I think it should not revert like that, it would be better to keep the tool but have it be unusable than having it revert to its makeshift state, that, or at least show a warning to the player before it breaks to tell that they're about to lose the tool completely, rather than having it be based on trial and error.

Actually I'll send a feedback about this...

I found that out the hard way early on myself. You have to keep an eye on your tool's durability and make sure to repair it before it gets too low. I put a repair station on my plot and check at the blacksmith's every time I'm in town.

When you have your tool active there's a durability circle down in the lower right hand corner of the screen around the icon of the tool.

repair kits are a purchased / crafted item that you use in conjunction with the repair station to repair your tools because it's much cheaper than having it break and needing to make a new one.

The way the mechanic is designed isn't the issue, it's the lack of proper in-game storyline based tutorials to teach new players the mechanics of the game. There's a lot of things like that in this game that really should have been explained better / at all.
In most situations, you're supposed to patch things up BEFORE they're totally shattered.

Fixing a crack is easy. Fixing a hole is not.

They should better explain this for sure. It's caught a few of my friends by surprise.

That said, it's so much easier to repair in town for gold than to bother with repair kits in case you weren't aware of that. I just always make it a habit to visit there and get my tools repaired when I do my purchase at the general store.

Counter point: repair kits take up a slot in the inventory or take up item spaces in storage whereas gold does not. They have their use, this is true, but for someone like me it is easier to drop 100g than waste limited inventory on these items.

Some folks don't know about the repair in town for gold so I always make it a habit to try to mention it whenever I can :No1:

It's a single slot for up to 1000 repair kits. It's well worth it.

Storage is such an issue with me ... I would actually love to see the repair items or modification items be classified as a tool? so they can be with the bug bombs / arrows etc ... that way they don't take up (in my case) a much needed bag bag slot.

if you have an anvil (and repair kits on you) on your lot a toggle of automatically repairing your items when your on your lot?

Storage chests are upgradable. I didn't realise this for a long time but once you max them out it's like 10000 storage or something which should keep most people happy. I think the furniture store sells the recipe but it's about 25K & 50K and you can't skip the 25K one so it's not cheap. Worth it but not cheap.

Nothing worse than being in a flow farming group in Bahari Bay and having to leave to repair your axe.

I'd still feel better if the cap went to 25k slots or even just 15K.

You shouldn't have to repair your ax every hour.

I knew you were going to misinterpret what I said and post something silly.

When you're in a flow farming group, you're chopping as many trees as you can as fast as you can to get the flow trees to spawn. Your axe wears down pretty quickly doing that.

What's the point of that? Instead of hunting for a single tree, just wait until midnight and get an entire grove with no effort. And it should still take over a hundred trees to break your axe.

Yea, another thing (repair kits) that should be able to go in the ammo pouch as well.

and yea, they should make pallium and silver storages.

I wish meals (and seeds/crops/ingredients) had their own storage too. Half of my storage is filled with just cooking and farming. Ore isn't a big deal because you're probably not going to have 500 palium bars.
