"Please make sure you are logged on to steam"
Getting this error when I try to play the game, even though i'm launching the game from steam. I have tried re-installing, verifying files, and different settings/launch options.

I had the same problem, here is the Hepl Center's answer:

"To help fix this issue, kindly try to use the space bar when prompted to press any key. You can also try the following workarounds:

1. Verify Game Files: Steam provides a built-in feature to verify the integrity of game files. Right-click on Palia in your Steam Library, select "Properties," go to the "Local Files" tab, and click "Verify Integrity of Game Files." This process will identify and repair any corrupted files.

2. Reinstall Palia: If verifying game files does not resolve the issue, consider reinstalling Palia entirely. Right-click on Palia in your Steam Library, select "Manage," and then "Uninstall." Once uninstalled, reinstall Palia by downloading it again from the Steam store.

3. Clear Steam Cache: Clearing the Steam cache can sometimes resolve installation issues. Exit Steam completely, navigate to the Steam directory (usually located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam), and delete all files except for the following: steam.exe, steamapps, and userdata folders. Restart Steam and try reinstalling Palia.

4. Run Steam as Administrator: Running Steam with administrator privileges can help resolve installation-related errors. Right-click on the Steam shortcut or executable, select "Properties," go to the "Compatibility" tab, and check the box next to "Run this program as an administrator." Click "Apply" and then "OK" to save the changes.

5. Update Windows and Drivers: Ensure that your Windows operating system and graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated software can sometimes interfere with game installations. Check for Windows updates and update your graphics drivers from the manufacturer's website.

If the issue still persists, please provide me with your Palia logs and dxdiag. Here's how to get them:

DXDIAG:
Press [Windows Key] + R (this will open up a "Run" window)
Type "dxdiag" and hit [Enter]
Click "Save all information" and save the file
Attach the file to the ticket

Palia logs:
Press [Windows Key]
Type "File Explorer" and hit [Enter]
Paste %LocalAppData%\Palia\Saved\Logs into the file explorer and hit [Enter]
Highlight all of the logs
Right-click and select "Compress to ZIP file"
Attach the zipped log file to the ticket."

P.S. Running Steam as administrator helped me.

Thank you for the reply, unfortunately i've tried all of these things several times. Nothing seems to be working. Strangely, it did this initially, after 3 days or so of messing with it, let me in and I ground 40+ hours of it, then just randomly started again one day.

The only time anything similar has happened to me was my antivirus. Works one day then wont the next. Turn it off and I can instantly get in. Turn it back on and it boots me. Silly. But it worked fine the day before. Gotta make exceptions for some games to get through the AV but I guess when your AV definitions update it can change things and need to be redone or something. Just try turning it off while you log in and see if it is stopping you and go from there. Could be a lot of things but this is the one that gets me.
