I disagree. When I was playing, 2/4 of my gameplay was wasted because of running. I know you can collect things on the way, but sometimes I have other more important things to do. Also, not everyone have time to play a game when you waste many of it just by running.
you can cover the span of an entire section of the map (Kilima Valley, Bahari Bay) in literally two minutes, even less once you learn to optimize your routes and even less than that if you use the fast travel.
Add in a mount that's double or more the speed of the player and by the time you called the mount, mounted, got to where you wanted to go, and dismounted it's be the same time if not longer than if you just ran there.
I dont see any reason for mount in this game.
But a mount would be overkill.
Nah, I know about fast travel and I use this often, but I prefer to use a mount. The thing I love in MMORPG games are mounts (and pets). Running is just boring:/
Give me a huge expansive map with tons of things to explore / natural beauty and a mount and I'd completely forget about doing anything else for a long time, so I'm right there with you on loving mounts in games.
Unfortunately there is nothing big or expansive, or even all that interesting to bother exploring in Palia, at least right now. Honestly I've played games where just the starter area was as big as the entirety of the Palia map.
With the size of the map you definitely don't need mounts
