Anyone else feeling defeated by mining changes???
I don't know why they decided to absolutely gut the payouts when earning gold is hard enough as is. Like why is a max stack of wood still only 100 gold? Why wasn't everything else brought up to be near comparison of mining payouts?

Then for a long term player like me assuming you don't want to nuke your other housing plots you're stuck shelling out waaaayyy more gold than what's possible to earn. It's even worse if you don't have much time to allot for playing.

My next harvest house to buy is 75k. I'm certainly not paying for that with amber which is only like 325 gold per 30+ trees. It's mostly relying on preserves now which most newer players don't discover, not only as a great profit but a function till much later.

Older players have more complaints about the game (obviously) than new players, devs are more gladly willing to deal with them, especially after firing most of the staff. Play hot-pot minigame, buy a pet, enjoy new walking pads, eth., Have fun 4 free, get banned in discord or reddit for criticism & then find another game on steam to play! Take life easier when it's built not in your favor!

S6's entire "balance" plan revolves around lengthening the grind to hide the lack of content, while framing it as a plus.

Agreed. I'm also pissed they raised the price of morel mushrooms at Zeki's making glowworm farms barely even profitable. At least let me scrap the 30 and get my flow wood back if youre gonna nerf em into the ground.

Hadn't refilled my farms in a while so didn't know they bumped up mushrooms. I'm ok with that change since it was odd how profitable it was for how little work it required.

Had 14 mainly as extra glow worm storage and not knowing what to do with the 30 crafting slots.

it barely feels like they buffed the other skills at all money-wise, just did 4 honey lures with a group of people and only got like what? 5k out of it? thats enough for a rug, maybe. unless you hunt for the uncommon/rare stuff its not enough of a profit to make it worth grinding for, but rare bugs are also rare for a reason so you wont find enough of them anyway to make it go around.

they could have boosted the other skills without butchering mining, just let people enjoy the skills they wanna do but make sure they can make money doing it. i focused on mining because i found it to be the most relaxing one that also brough some profit but alas!

I was waiting to see if this was the case, I felt like their fudging of the numbers felt too good to be true, the entire update really was very "WE HEAR YOU GUYS HERE HAVE ALL THESE CHANGES PLEASE BUY MORE OUTFITS" and now it is finally revealed, it was barely a buff with more nerfs.
At least you can't get absolute trash from piles anymore, wonder if they made some drops lower % in there to offset too.
Only grabbed one pile today and got a Dragon Peat Moss so, maybe. Usually it only gives me like 1 rock or copper.

I think most people read it the way we did but when I go back and think about the post I don't fully remember it saying it increased any payouts on other aspects just that they added amber and brought mining all the way down to match in comparison with other skill routes. Which as we can all see was a terrible idea. 3 rows of max stack wood are still only 100g per stack even if you plank them. Also for whatever reason ore runs far cheaper than bricks and Silver is still the most profitable as opposed to Palium bricks. I've played quite a bit since update and with no aspect have I felt even a hidden number fudge to make any other skill route a profitable venture:BL3Shrug: I hope they fix it in the hotfix that I'm sure is coming.

How many preserve makers do you own? Me personally I think I need 12 total at minimum but I've definitely seen people with like 30 of them.
Frieren May 30, 2024 @ 5:27pm
I have 5 preserve makers at the moment, its my main money maker. Anything i don't use for cooking or gifting I put into these preserves and build up and then sell.

You're not alone. A lot of players feel like this was a nerf not a "balance." Since they're firing staff every other week and are not adding any real content like quests and regions, they have to find ways to make the grind even more time-consuming.

By piles do you mean the daily rummage piles? Cause you can just fill your inventory for automatic recipes/quests if you dont have everything done/collected already.

If you check the patch note they show the increase of profit on each skill and they specifially said they wanted to buff the other skills and nerf mining to make sure people didn't center themselves around that one skill alone for money. This update was supposed to make earning money easier :( You can also only stack 5 fish each, which makes fishing annoying since your inventory will fill up a lot faster than any other skill. That could have been a good improvement to make. I usually sell stacks of iron bars and thankfully that hasn't been nerfed yet but who knows.

I have noticed that the gold and silver don't generate as often. As if gold wasn't already hard to come by, now it's REALLY REALLY rare! BOOOOO! Great that they made the flow trees drop more, but now, the groves really aren't as fun anymore. The last grove, I ended up with over 50 pieces of flow wood, and now I have TOO much flow wood and not enough gold.

If they were going to make changes, change the amount of spawns for rare things like fish, bugs, and gold. We fished for 4 days in the cave, for a total of 16 hours and not 1 damn void ray. That's INSANE! The higher you level up should determine how often you get RARE items. If you're a level 25-30, 35 fishing, it should be EASIER to catch the "epic" fish, NOT harder! JMO.
