Fishing for Answers

I have gotten the letters and found the secret spot. I clicked on the dirt pile and it disappeared, but didn't give me credit for the quest. It's still highlighted on my map but the dirt pile is gone. Anyone know any tricks to fix this?

a new note bottle should have ended up in your ! inventory - right click and read and it should give you the credit!
