After that, I suggest mining iron. Mine the rocks too. You can sell the sunstones you drop and make makeshift arrows with the flint. A bin of makeshift arrows nets you 2400 gold. But farming the wood is a pain, no lie. Another good reason to farm iron is to listen out for palium callouts and pick some of that sweet sweet ore up.
Farm wise, I do two blueberry bushes, one apple tree and the rest tomatoes and bok choy. If I didn't have access to the blueberries and appples, I'd just do tomatos and bok choy. Sell the seeds of bok choy and sell the jars of tomatoes.
I know you said without selling stuff, but I honestly can't think of a way to make money without selling stuff.
