Do the Palia devs not understand what "singleplayer" actually means? I assumed you could play offline as a singleplayer, or "coop" -- but only you.
No, there is no single player, you will always be on a server with other people.
With a few small exceptions, you can play without other people.
The Steam/Publisher assigned tags say single player. The only time you can play without people is on your plot, if you've blocked entry, and if the server instance you're on is marked to be shut and you're the last to leave. Single player doesn't mean not teaming up. Palia is not a single player game.
