Selling Upgraded Cars also Sells Parts?

My first car and best option was an auto 180rs, now that I've since maxed it out and gotten a maxed manual 200rs and would like a newer, manual 180rs for drag races. The sell price of my original 180rs is high but idk if it selling would include selling all of my upgraded parts when selling the car or if they would go to my storage. I'd assume it sells the parts but if someone else has done this by accident or did it as a test please let me know. (I sold all my stocks parts so I cant just re-equip all my old parts to guarantee no parts will be lost, plus it'd be a massive hassle to unequip everything as it's a maxed out car).

The car is sold at its current state with its currently equipped parts. So if you have an upgraded car all of the upgrades installed will be sold
