How to change profile name?

Hi everyone, just wondering if there is a way to change your racer/profile name? I accidentally skipped over the name entering section when I started playing and my name is now "Unknown Racer". Any help is appreciated, thanks!

just go to the "option" when you are in the main menu, and then you press "space", the game will be shut down and you can open it again

you dont have to start over. you can modify the save file with a .es3 editor.

once you have your text file decrypted you can edit your name and/or $$ using notepad or notepad++.

youll have to encrypt the text file again after you make your changes and download the final encrypted .txt file. Im assuming it will be saved in your Downloads folder.

After you download the final encrypted file move (if you want to keep your game save) or delete the old .es3 and .bac files in your appdata folder.

After you move/delete the old save files you will have to rename the new encrypted .es3.txt file back to its original name and .es3 format (SaveFile.es3). Basically rename the file to: SaveFile.es3

Before you rename the encrypted text file you need to click on your folders "view" tab and at the end where it says File Name Extension make sure that has a check next to it. If this is not checked you won't receive a warning prompt after you rename the file meaning you are not changing the file format, only the file name.

Rename your edited save file to SaveFile.es3. After you remove the .txt from the end and hit enter you should get a prompt warning about changing the file and being unstable. Just hit YES.

Assuming youve moved/deleted both old files all you need to do is copy the new .es3 save file into AppData\LocalLow\PLANET JEM SOFTWARE\NIGHT-RUNNERS PROLOGUE

Then you will need to make a copy of this file and paste the copy in the same folder. It will be named SaveFile - Copy.es3

rename the copy (SaveFile - Copy.es3) to SaveFile.es3.bac

(basically youre duplicating the new save as your backup file too.)

Then play the game and your new name/$ amount should be there.

You can start a new game and as soon as you spawn in the garage you can exit the game completely and use the brand new save to give yourself like 30 million yen and be able to fully upgrade your car.
