Block Phase? How to...
Maybe I glossed over this part in the tutorial, but I don't understand what to do here. I've been unable to find a manual that explains this.

The PDF that comes with this (War of the Etherlords 2) seems to not be the main manual. Does anyone know where I can find the manual to this game?

I am sure you can just google for some general tutorials but nothing will help you more than just playing yourself .

So when you spawn a create you can select swords on the right which is attack (turn after it is spawned) . If you attacked the creatures must Rest after that . If the creature is rested it can't block .

To block enemy click on your unit (that is standing up) and then click on enemy that is attacking .

Note that sometimes you creatues may have spells on them that prevent them from blocking. Click on creatue to see what spells he is affected by . Synthetics (robots) love to spam the rest spell . You can pay ether(mana) to remove the spell .

Also some heros may have active buffs that prevent creatures from attacking . Click on enemy hero to see which spells he is affected by .

Last but not least . Some creatures have unique abilities like regenration, first strike etc that will give them advantage over superior stats of another unit .

The combat is round based, you have a round to attack, after that the enemy has a round to attack which means it is a block round for you. The main difference is: Now you can assign your units to an attacking unit to block them. The enemy unit will hit first, if your unit survived, it will hit back and can even kill the attacker. However your winning unit will not continue to attack the enemy hero.

You have to avoid the following mistake: Most units need to rest a round after attacking. So if you send all units to attack, they will rest during the following block round and you have nothing to defend.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, I didn't understand the block phase so I was just having all my units attack ASAP.

And I did try finding the answer through Google and some guides on Gamefaqs. I didn't read much of the guides because some of the stuff can be spoilerish, but I did try a Ctrl + F search for "block".
