I thought I was crazy or had missed something when I couldn't make a 2x2 block of stacked basic houses, because I can do 2 on the bottom floor and 1 on top of either left or right side, but the instant I go to add the one next to it on the second floor? collapse.
however, if I build the bottom two, place one in the middle of the two on the second floor, then another on either left or right so half overhangs into empty space? THAT works fine. I can even add walkways to reach the doors on the second floor and a stair at the end. wild math being done here.
full agree. when something collapses, it makes me feel like i've suddenly gone into a puzzle minigame rather than a construction screen. no longer am I freely placing blocks within the limits the GAME knows but *I* don't yet have information on... instead, I'm just trying to remove and add blocks until either 1) I've finished construction and the game decides now that it is stable enough to let me unpause, or 2) I undo everything and come back to deal with it later.
